Podcasts all the rage!

Well I never, podcasts all over the place, today Yahoo! offically launched its pod cast engine. It does seem to be rather similar to Flickr in look and feel but after an afternoon poking around it does seem a really good and genuinely useful site which is platform agnostic, doesn't tie in to too many similar products and works well!! podcasts.yahoo.com

Great article & definition of web 2.0 from Tim O'Reilly

What Is Web 2.0 by Tim O'Reilly -- Defining just what Web 2.0 means (the term was first coined at a conference brainstorming session between O'Reilly and MediaLive International, which also spawned the Web 2.0 Conference), still engenders much disagreement. Some decry it as a meaningless marketing buzzword, while others have accepted it as the new conventional wisdom. Tim O'Reilly attempts to clarify just what we meant by Web 2.0, digging into what it means to view the Web as a platform and which applications fall squarely under its purview, and which do not.

Guardian Blogging Article

Interesting article in yesterdays guardian about blogging, read it here the blogging generation commenting that a third of UK young people have started an online page or blog and are highly engaged in the medium, which contradicts a lot of other recent research.

Google release RSS reader

This is very interesting, Google yesterday launched an rss reader google reader a tool to read all your rss feeds in one place similar to the new functionality in My Yahoo! but ajax powered and linked into their existing blogsearch product.

Comments are I added my feeds I have in My Yahoo! and I got nothing displayed, so its primarily geared around new content only, and adding and letting you know when you have new content to read. This is interesting but not always a good thing, still My Yahoo! offers you a lot more, but I know for me the new content is what I'm looking for....interested to see how well this does in the market and if Google continue to advance in this space.

ajax driven instant search is a hit

its a bit sad, but I really like the new yahoo instant search product, instant.search.yahoo.com

its an ajax driven instant result for search queries, needs some work but hitting enter or clicking is now a thing for the past....
